Why is my TR ID number or passport number requested when buying a bus ticket?

When buying a bus ticket, it is mandatory to present a TR Identification Number or passport number so that travel insurance can be made and in accordance with the rules of the Ministry of Transport. For this reason, the TR Identification Number or passport number is required for each passenger when purchasing tickets.
